Past Workshops and Trainings

WORKSHOPS HAVE NOW BEEN COMPLETED.

Please see the information below regarding past workshops:

Nine (9) free community workshops on water catchment will be held in 2015 for Hawai'i Island communities. Free water quality testing kits will be provided at the workshops to all participants. If you cannot attend a workshop, a limited number of free water quality testing kits are available for pick-up for personal, household or school, or non-profit organization use.

What will the workshops cover?

Community workshops will address many elements of residential water catchment systems and best practices to improve collected water quality. Water testing kits will be distributed free of charge at the workshops to catchment owners and users.

Information and Training workshops will provide an overview of the state of water catchment as well as the benefits and risks associated with water catchment systems and practices.

Where will the workshops be held?

Workshops will be held across the Big (Hawai'i) Island. Community workshops will be from 2-4 hours depending on the needs of the community and include an ample Question and Answer period. Free water quality testing kits will be provided to workshop participants.

Is there a cost to attend?

The workshops are free to attend and those attending will receive a free water quality testing kit at the workshop.

Two (2) water catchment information and training events will also be held for volunteers, health service providers, agency representatives and other stakeholders on Hawai'i Island in Spring 2015. The aim of these events is to assist those serving water catchment users through an enhanced understanding of the benefits and risks associated with water catchment systems and practices.
